In the News: LaGrange Animal Shelter’s Partnership with Puppy Pipeline

LaGrange Animal Shelter’s Partnership with Puppy Pipeline

Finding forever homes for man’s best friend has become a mission for LaGrange’s animal agency. The city of LaGrange animal shelter’s partnership with Puppy Pipeline has given local dogs a new “leash” on life.

Puppy Partners

Partnering with the Georgia-based Puppy Pipeline, LaGrange Animal Services aims to find dogs loving homes to the north—even north of the border. The LaGrange animal shelter’s partnership with Puppy Pipeline helps send dogs to homes in the continental Northeast and upper Midwest, where demand outweighs supply. Now, Canada is even in the mix.

Puppy Pipeline, also Puppy Pipeline of Georgia Rescue, is a nonprofit that shuttles adoptable pets from no-kill shelters to welcoming homes. The nonprofit handles dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Puppy Pipeline has secured homes for more than 1,000 dogs and cats since its founding in 2007. Partnering with Puppy Pipeline will aid in LaGrange Animal Services’ goal to become a no-kill shelter.

In addition to the city of LaGrange animal shelter’s partnership with Puppy Pipeline, LaGrange Animal Services has also united with the Toronto Humane Society. Due to Canadian restrictions, only six month and older dogs will be sent to Toronto.

The first trip saw nine dogs heading to our neighbors to the north. LaGrange Animal Services expects that this newfound partnership will help further its goal—and give local canines a place to call home.
