About the Pilot Training Program at LaGrange College
The new pilot training program at LaGrange College will let aspiring aviators achieve new heights with a career in the airline industry. According to reports, LaGrange College has partnered with Paragon Flight Training to offer a two-year aviation minor.
The program allows students to pursue another major while gaining the necessary skills for a variety of pilot professions, such as airline pilot, private charter pilot or cargo pilot, according to the college’s website.
One major goal of the new pilot training program at LaGrange College is to train more pilots for an industry in need now and in the future. Students enrolled in the program will be well-rounded, understand other cultures and develop critical thinking skills, along with the necessary aviation experience.

This fall will be the first semester the new pilot training program at LaGrange College is offered. The program combines classroom instruction, including hands-on simulation training behind the controls in “glass cockpits,” and flying experience at LaGrange-Callaway Airport too.
Once students earn their private pilot certificates, they will work toward their instrument ratings, which involves flying in cloudy conditions with possible weather. After they receive their instrument ratings, students will begin training for their commercial pilot certificates.

LaGrange College is located at 601 Broad St., which is about four miles from Whispering Pines Apartment Homes. That means you could arrive on campus for classes after about a 10-minute drive!
