More specifically, recent reports shared that Grandview Partners and Farpoint Development purchased 134 acres in LaGrange. So far, plans for the land include the construction of a warehouse complex. The estimated size of the future complex could feature up to 2 million square feet of warehouse space.
News of a new logistics park in LaGrange adds to the city’s growing status as an industrial hub. Along with the development of the logistics park, LaGrange was recently selected by the Georgia Port Authority as the site for the next major inland port site for the state. The future West Georgia Inland Port is a rail terminal that will connect to the state’s Port of Savannah. It is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.
They are calling the new logistics park in LaGrange the Lafayette Logistics Park, which will be located off of Pegasus Parkway and Old Hutchinson Mill Road.
More about the upcoming park
Located along the I-85 corridor, the industrial park will be in between Kia’s West Point manufacturing plant and what will be the West Georgia Inland Port, plus additional factories and facilities. Wal-Mart, Duracell and Kimberly-Clark are all nearby as well.
The new industrial park will be constructed in two phases. Construction is expected to begin on the first phase in the first quarter of this year, with completion expected by the end of the year. The second phase is set to begin once much of phase one is completed.
